Mame 0.139 Scanlines Issue

Hi All

My first post so apologies if this has been answered before but I can't find the answer! I'm running a slightly older verson of mame in Hyperspin. Mame 0.139 romset (2010).  I have legacy mode and all is working fine with the help to tutorials and what I can find in the commuity forums.  However, I struggling to impliment the scanlines and effects to give it the old school look.  Can someone help and advise!
