WINUAE - Saving within Amiga Games

Does anyone have advice on how to set up an Amiga install using WINUAE when using WHDload games so that you can save data within a game.  For example, I would like to to save a league within TV Sports Basketball or a playbook in Gridiron!.  Right now, I can get TV Sports to play, but I can't save any changes to the teams.  I'm happy I was able to finally get the WHDload games running (actually, still trying to get Gridiron! to work), but now I need to be able to save data to really enjoy them the way I used to.  Right now, the only games I can get to play are in WHDload format stored in zip files in my roms (games) folder.

Any help would be appreciated!
