HyperSpin sends bad event which terminates EDS (LEDBlinky)

Hello.  Relatively new user and first time post but hoping someone out there can help with an issue I'm experiencing with my new cabinet build.  I'm running HS with EDS (which in turn is launching LEDBlinky and HyperMarquee) and seeing that occasionally when scrolling through the MAME wheel, EDS is exiting (obviously taking LEDBlinky and HyperMarquee down with it).  I enabled logging in EDS and am seeing that HS is sometimes sending an event with wheel item set to "C\Program".  Here's an excerpt from the log (full log attached):

It seems it's sending a fully qualified path to something as a parameter.  Any way to filter this event, add quotes to the parameter to handle spaces, or configure EDS to ignore?
