Need Help with Hyperspin Wheel set up

Hi everyone!

wanted to ask for a little help with my Hyperspin set up, hopefully someone has a few minutes, it will be greatly appreciated. my friend game me a board with hyperspin and I’m trying to set it up.

All I need help with is to set up the Joystick and buttons so they work with the Hyperspin wheel, to be able to select game, search by letter,  exit hyperspin, etc.

I have connected my buttons like this:  Player 1: button 1 to Switch 1 on the iPac encoder. Player 2 to switch 2, Button 3 to Switch 3 etc. all the way to 6. The Player 1 Start button is connected to Start switch on iPac. Select/coin button is connected to Coin switch on iPac.

The player 1 Joystick works, Up, Down, Right, Left, and I’m also able to search games by letter but my player 1 buttons do not work. everything is grounded.

Player 2 nothing works.

hoping to make this easy or more clear, I’m attaching screenshots of what my buttons settings look like on on Panel View on the WinIpac software. and my control panel.

can someone tell me what needs to be done in order to get this working? do I need to assign functions on WinIpac or  Hyperlaunch? I know I’m using an older version of Hyperlaunch but I would rather try to see if I can make it work  with what I have.

I’m running Hyperlaunch version:  3.0.0.9

Hyperspin Version: 1.3.2.0

HyperHQ version: 1.3.0.0

if you can even send me a couple screenshots fill in with what values I should put according to my button layout, that would be awesome, thanks again! 😔

Might be far fetched, but have you checked that they key mapping in HyperHQ is matching your WinIPAC configuration? :)

Thanks for your help dude, im sure it doesnt match. Im so clueless, i dont know what to do lol. i was hoping someone by looking at my controller panel and the winipac settings will be able to tell me what to put on each button setting to make this work.  I'm so use to using retropie but wanted to give hyperspin a chance, I love the splash screen with the wheel.

I guess first I should've asked, how do I key map my controller panel on HyperHQ. I don;t even know how to do that. is just that part I need help with, the wheel. once inside a mame game I know how to use keyboard to set up buttons and joysticks.

Click the Controls tab in your HyperHQ and match it with your winipac settings. Note this is only for Hyperspin, to map controls to your different systems you have to go in to the emulator for that system and map they keys as well. :)

Thanks!

I will do that but first let me ask you, how do I know what values or letters or numbers do I put on each switch on HyperHq control tab or Winipac? Thats where Im stuck. For example looking at the controls screenshot you just sent, to what buttons in my control panel do I match the Letter "F", G, V, space, etc.

And what about Exit, you have scape, do I do the same? What do I put after the "+" signs?

They keyboard keys you have matched to your button should be the same key in HyperHq, for example if button one is bound to let's say Letter F in winipac it should be letter F for the function in hyperHq for that button, it's like when you press arcade Burton 1 you are really pushing letter F on your keyboard, I hope I make some sense the + signs are just if you want a special key combination to exit hyperspin , 😂

but wait....question:

how do I know what keyboard keys to match to each of my buttons? right now I haven't matched any keys.

for example, in retropie to assign the keys to buttons and joysticks on  " splash screen "  I would just select " right " and move joystick to the " right ", then left, up and down and so on. same with buttons.

here in Hyper HQ, how do I know what key on the keyboard assign to my button 1, button 2, etc. ? what key on keyboard assign start button, etc.

I'm looking into what you mentioned before right now. just figure I ask you as I work on it.

so, I went in and I see that for example the joystick settings for Player 1 on Hyper HQ ( up, down, skip up and skip down ) are the same as in the Winipac software, I guess Skip up means left on Hyper HQ, and Skip down means right?

then as you see on "Skip up Num" there is an " F ", how do  I match that on Winipac ? Winipac doesn't have spaces called Skip up, Skip down, Genre, etc. thats what confuses me.

if this was your control panel that you built, and your Winipac software and you are about to map buttons, how would you set it up, based on the picture of my controller panel/button layout. can you show me graphically so I can understand better? it must be easy but am not that bright when comes to Hyperspin :)

see image attached to see how things look now on both programs.

This is just an Example, the skip up and down is just if you are on roms with the letter A it will Jump to roms letter B it is called skip down and from B to A skip up, the keyboard keys must be the same in ipac and HQ it doesnt matter what buttons that´t entirely up to you but the Keyboard keys must be the same between the 2
