Particle Effects and SWF animations files

Hello! I've been tinkering with the new Hypertheme for the last week or so now, and have been trying to get familiar with it. I have a bunch of themes that I created for HS1, and have been trying to convert them for HS2. For these old themes, I traditionally used Adobe After Effects to create particle effects, for example, like falling snow and floating embers and other animations as well, and converted them to SWF files. But SWF files are incompatible with the new Hypertheme correct?

So, is there a way to convert these SWF files into another format compatible with the new HT? Or is there some kind of program you guys can recommend that's alternative to Adobe After Effects that lets you create and export animations compatible with HT?
