Snaps instead of video

Hi all,

I was wondering if there was a way to get static snaps/artwork/background to appear INSTEAD of a video snap if not available?

I can put my static backgrounds in \Media\Sega Dreamcast\Images\Artwork1 and they slide in from the left, but underneath the video snap which is empty.

Also can someone tell me what the background folder is for...\Media\Sega Dreamcast\Images\Backgrounds, I placed some properly named backgrounds in there and nothing came up..is it on a per game basis or is it just the background for the entire emulator section..?

Thanks for any advice.

If you put an image into the "video" folder, it should pop up in the video area. Just make sure the filename matches the game thats missing. It might be distorted depending on what the theme "tells" hyperspin what to do with the image.

If you want to completely remove the video window: unzip a copy of the default theme, open up the XML file in Notepad, erase the line that has "video" in it, rezip it and rename the zip file to match the game without a video. Now when you're going through your Dreamcast wheel in Hyperspin and you get to that game, Hyperspin will use the theme that matches the game instead of the Default theme. You can also swap out the background.png in the zip for a different one.

Basically the XML file in the zip tells Hyperspin where and how to layout the files that are in the Media folder. If the person that made the theme didn't use the Backgrounds folder in their theme, then nothing will pop up thats in that folder. Theres also a theme creator if you want to make your own but I never used it. Hope it helps
