I cannot get MAME to recognize my trackball

I cannot get mame to recognize my trackball, I have a Northcoast custom arcades quadcontroller with trackball and spinner http://mameroom.com/Products_QuadController.asp

they are both set up to operate the same as a mouse, I went into the mame.ini's ( there are several and I switched them all ) and switched the setting from 0 to 1 and also set the trackball setting from keyboard to mouse but when I start up say Golden Tee and then go into the player 1 settings and try to set them the same way I did all the other buttons it does not recognize the track ball movement or the mouse movement.

Any sugetions ???

I did all this as I saw in another post and still nothing, I have checked all the other posts on this subject and tried those and still nothing, they both work fine in windows, I am running mame thru hyperlaunch

Using Your mouse devices.

for spinner:

x-axis left\right

for trakball:

x-axis left\right and y-axis up\down.

You really have to just play with that till its set to your liking.
