Hi guys,

Building my first cabinet here... couldnt have done it without all the help on this site, you guys rock!

Im finally to the point where Im ordering buttons and joysticks so I can start assembling the cabinet and Im wondering which joysticks I should be looking at. I know Ive seen posts on here about 4 way vs 8 way joysticks but there were all older posts and Im wondering if thats even relevant anymore? I believe I read somewhere that if youre using an 8 way stick, MAME can auto adjust it to a 4 way (ignoring the diagonal inputs) when playing 4 way games, is that the case?

Basically I spent a ton of time on this setup and dont want to ruin it because I bought the wrong joystick. Should I go 8 way, one that adjusts between 4 and 8 way, something else I should look at??
