Preview video is distorted when trying to play. The video files are .mp4

They work perfect when I watch them in other media players.

I could find only one other thread from 2 years ago, and none of the solutions worked.

Help?

I'm on my phone and I don't have it on me but I'm assuming you're using intel built-in video and there's a workaround with some settings in Firefox that turns off flash Hardware acceleration

Yes im using Intel graphics windows 8.

I right clicked on a flash video in chrome, went to settings and unchecked hardware acceleration.

Let me know if I need to do anything else when you get to a computer! Thanks!

I found this

Well guys, it works!

What I did was disabling hardware acceleration for flash in IE!

It did NOT work when I did the same in Chrome, so be advised.

If you've got the same problem and want to give it a try:

Browse to a flash video (youtube or on the Adobe flash website), right click, go to settings and uncheck the box for hardware acceleration.

After that the .mp4 videos showed fine in Hyperspin with my HD 4400 unit

I seem to remember that you had to do the disabling of hardware acceleration on a YouTube video through IE and not Chrome. Can't remember why but worth a shot.

Just tried it, and with the new interface of youtube it does not let you go through settings anymore.

I have the latest adobe flash player, windows 8.1 64 bit sony vaoi with intel graphics.

Any other solutions?

had same problem. for me it was the accelleration bit. Right click on any youtube vid before it loads and go to settings and it should be right there. I just tried it and was able to find the option. Right click youtube vid > Settings > Something something accelleration

Hey CajunGamer,

I got mine to work by downloading FireFox. Then installing flash for FireFox and doing the suggestions from above - disable Hardware Acceleration. Didn't get it to work in I.E. or Chrome. Give that a shot.

Mystul

Mystul, this worked! Thank you!

I did this method in Chrome and IE but oddly enough once I downloaded and instaled FireFox and right clicked and unchecked acceleration from FireFox, it fixed the problem. Awesome!
