  • After the last update to HyperHQ, ver. 2.0.85, Hyper Spin gets stuck at just past the ... on, "Loading system and rom assets..."

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled HyperHQ with no change.  I was hoping someone else would have logged it by now, but I don

t see anyone else doing it.  Maybe I'm the only one with the issue.

Same issue for me. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall HyperHQ and Hyperspin plugins with no change. Also cleared the cache files but no success. Is there any recommended procedure in that case ?

For the most recent updates, it is recommended to wipe your old install completely. What version of HS do you have. I believe the current version is 2.0.51  (edit: correct version 2.0.54) which should be installed when you update HQ to the latest (2.0.102 I think).

Hi, I did wipe everything and restarted from scratch using HyperHQ 2.0.102 and Hyperspin 2.0.54. It worked well, I added something like 30 systems until I faced the same issue again : Stuck at just past the ... on, "Loading system and rom assets..."

Log info says Wheel Service => Wheel Load => Reading All Remaining Assets Into Pixi JS From Directory Recursively Except Main Menu [ '[]' ]

Rik81 has also reported the same issue

What system or systems did you add after your last successful launch? Try removing that system and report back.

The last 3 systems I added after the last succesfull Hyperspin launch were Nintendo Gameboy color, Nintendo gameboy advanced and sega STV. I was suspecting sega STV so I removed it but still stucked. I tried the 2 others one at a time and got the same result.

Thanks for your support rondar !

You're welcome.  Just trying to help figure things out so they can squash the bugs. Few more questions:

Can you see all the media (boxes, videos, etc) for the systems in HQ?

How long did you wait for HS to launch?

Have you completely closed out of HQ and reopened?

    Media :

nintendo gameboy color : visible un hyperhq

nintendo gameboy advanced : visible in hyperhq

sega STV : no media downloaded by hyperhq no rom information either

waited for hyperspin to load for more than 10 minutes. Taking 1-2 minutes usually.

did cleared cache, completely close hyperspin and hyperhq plus computer restart.

Thank you. I’ll try to install STV later to see if I encounter any issues.

I was able to have hyperspin not being stuck anymore after I deleted all the last medias which were downloaded manually in the Hyperspin media hsm folder. Maybe a corrupted file was sitting there. unfortunately I'm not able to say which media from which system.

I figured out that the Atari 2600 wheels and Sony Playstation wheels downloaded folders where my rootcause when hyperspin was stucked

    Atari  2600 wheels folder d683a221-6bee-4c6d-aa73-c36e97c95fe6

    Sony Playstation wheels folder 3bc3f13f-094f-48a5-89f4-1aba13cf0eca

Working when deleted, appearing again after automatic media download

Just as an FYI, after installing the newest version of HyperHQ, version 2.0.102, a newer version of the HyperSpin Plugin was also installed.  It has resolved the HyperSpin being stuck issue.  But there are now a few new issues.  I will be documenting them soon.  Thanks for all your input @rondar.
