earthprime Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I'm curious if people traditional use the official XML files or if they make their own. I'm building a new Hyperspin system and want to be as complete as possible, but don't want any hassles that the full XMLs may bring.
rfancella Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Hi, I use the official xml files if they are available. If your roms are name matching and in the same folder. The official xmls are all No-Intro, so they are all working and playable english or patched games. Start there and add what is missing. But at least the official files have all the extra info in them. Year, Manufacturer, et al. Thanks, Ron
earthprime Posted June 19, 2015 Author Posted June 19, 2015 Will Don's Hyperspin ROM renamer program re-name my ROMs to match the official XML databases? I suppose my biggest concern is that it would be a huge mess if my ROM names don't match the official database. Everything would be out of sync and it would take 100 hours to fix.
rfancella Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Yes, it does a great job. I don't like the way it does CD/DVD based sets. But all the others it works very well on. Thanks, Ron
