I am very new to this whole thing.  I've just got Hyperspin running and 1,000s of games behind it.  I have been programming the tankstick game by game, but I cannot figure a way to exit a game using the tankstick.  The istructions say Player 2 Start & Right Pinball button, but I may have remapped the right pinball button.  Can I map a button to be the escape button or something?

I want to get this set up before we install to the cabinet.

Help!

I can't be sure but its always a safe bet if you can map the emulator. As you exit the emulator the control goes back to the fe.

This sounds really cool, but I have no idea what that means or how to do it.  Can you explain HOW to do this?

what emulator are you trying to exit? (be sure to backup or make a copy of your settings first)

If it future pinball the command line /open "C:\Program Files\Future Pinball\NewTable.fpt" /play /exit

I believe the same for VisualPinball also.

without the exit you will go into the editor

Get to know your emulators and how they function and you would not have to rely on scripts

Here is the link on how exit  http://www.xgaming.com/support/questions/113/Add+Extra+Key+Functions+to+your+X-Arcade+on+PC+and+for+MAME%2C+Including+Macros and http://www.xgaming.com/support/questions/7/Configuring+MAME%E2%84%A2+For+X-Arcade%E2%84%A2+Use+-+The+Easy+Way  and one more with a pre setup to tse with Mame for download http://www.xgaming.com/support/questions/12/Advanced+MAME%E2%84%A2+Configuration+%26+Config+File+Download

It seem they have already done this for you. Apparently you have to run Autothokey before launching said emulator .

How do I get to know an emulator?

Most emulators comes with some kind of documentation explaining how it works. It by the use of theese file Doc Readme Help files that you get to know the workings of a emulator. This is what allows people to make scripts and try to automate things for you.  last but not least in Mame config.text ( located in Docs folder) you could just map the escape key and set up mame to use that key.( depending if your keys are not mapped to some other function, hence forth 1P Start + P2 Start = Escape (exits MAME games) and if you escape again it will exit emulator.
