Arculator issue - archimedes emulator

Sorry if this has been solved before but I did a search and couldn't find this issue discussed.

I am running ARCulator to emulate the Acorn Archimedes and has followed numerous tutorials on how to set it up. When I run it default screen size games load fine - but when I pout it into Full Screen mode it goes into a loop of continuously switching between full screen and windowed mode - and the only thing you can do is sit back and wait for it to crash or go to task manager and end it.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue before or not.

I think I have found a solution to the fullscreen issue.

You downloaded Arculator from the web, right?

You put it in a folder, and now you have to set it to compatibility mode for

Windows XP 3. Now it should be working when it comes to the fullscreen issue.

After this you CAN NOT move it again, or rename the folder, or it will stop working again.

You can actually see on the Window bar if this is going to work or not. See attachments.

So I set up an alternate emulator that starts to the command prompt. This should fix games

that didn´t auto-launch with the error "WIMP is currently active", but IRL only fixed Bubble Fair and Colour Umoria, as

HamsDemo, Gorm and Ixion have various other launch problems.

Ticking the 'Disable full-screen optimizations' (under Compatibility) is enough to fix the problem for me.  I end up with the menu bar still showing at the top of my screen but at least it works.
