Foz72 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Hi all, I have a 4 player Ipac joystick control in an arcade unit. Im doing a fresh install of Hyperspin 1.4 starting with MAME - all controls work fine in Hyperspin, no problems Now im trying to get my Ipac controls for use in Retroarch, but no matter what config i use i cant seem to get them setup to use the Ipac. If anyone has any help or guides on how to use Ipac controls with any of the emulators that would be a great help. Im going round in circles looking through the net. Is it the case that the emus just see the key bindings, so its just like assigning keys as they dont recognise the Ipacs as joysticks as such, just key presses? Many thanks, Foz.
bclout Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I have mini ipac, and had lots of trouble getting retroarch to work. Finally got it to work using rocketlaunch. First start a game using retroarch. Check if it works. Then find the configuration file. It has the name of the core and .cfg extension. Change the name into its system name (including capitals). For example Nintendo Game Boy.cfg Now you can assign your joystick (they are indeed key presses) by modifying the file. I am doing this from the top of my head., so no guarantee. Also download newlybui!ds if you have problemswith the latest stable release.
