silent scope light gun conversion

hey guys i got a question. has anyone taken an old silent scope light rifle for the original xbox and gutted it then put in new parts that work with their arcade cab? i can get the aimtrak guns to work great and ive got the parts but im not really sure where to begin. has anyone done anything like this before? any tips or warnings? can i reuse the kick back device thats in the gun already?
