Rotgut
Hi. everyone! I have everything up and running with my custom CP. I am using a Mini-Pac Opti and have assigned most of my controls using Winipac v.2. The problem is, I cannot for the life of me figure out what I need to do in order to get the U-Trak to operate. Am I supposed to assign the U-Trak controls in Winipac? It's not clear to me how the U-Trak is supposed to be "programmed." Once the U-Trak is "programmed" or whatnot, what are the steps I need to take once I am in an actual MAME game? I am used to pressing the Tab key to configure controls, but I am pretty much lost as to how to get a game like Centipede (for example) to recognize the U-Trak. One thing I ** did ** do was go into my MAME.ini file and change "Mouse" from 0 to 1. Besides that, I'm lost as to what to do. I have read a lot of conflicting information online and it's confusing to me. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance : )

If so then its working/configured. Do you have just 1 mame ini files? I used one of gigapigs builds off here and i had to enable mouse in all 4 ini files just go to inputs, then change trackball x input to moving the trackball sideways. Should show up as mouse x or something like that Same goes for trackball y and moving the trackballl up and down.

First, thanks for the advice : ) Yes, the trackball does function as a mouse in Win 7... it also functions to scroll up and down in HyperSpin menus and scrolls up and down when I am in the "Tab" game "key press" options... I found two (2) MAME.ini files and changed each one from Mouse = 0 to Mouse = 1 Re: the two (2) ini files, one was in the "main" MAME emulator/executable folder and the other one was in a sub folder called "ini"... When I go to Tab key settings in MAME and go to Track X Analog and Track Y Analog... and I try to program a trackball spin... nothing happens, nothing registers... Not sure what to do at this point. I only found two (2) MAME.ini files and I changed them, like I said, so I am at a loss... Ugh

I will check tonight which ver. of MAME. I think it might be 0.137... I never altered those other command lines, just the "Mouse = 1" change... that is the only line I was advised to change... So maybe these other command lines need changed. Hope that's all it is. "And don't call me Shirley!" LOL

Other than the lightgun options (I am not using one), I have done all of these things. I am truly at a loss. I have gone into every folder I know of to change any "MAME.ini" files I can find. Still no trackball ability in-game. It is making me crazy. If anyone has any advice I would really and truly appreciate it. Thank you : )
Frank Drebin
IDK man. With everything you've done, it *should* work. If you've got time try a new version of MAME, and create a new .ini file. Or reinstall your version of mame and create a new ini file.
