Guys im slowly making my through all my HS setup from beginning (enjoying learning this tbh)

I have a few questions though if you wouldn't mind answering

1. I have RetroArch installed, its an earlier version though...I have downloaded the latest version...Is it as simple as Installing it over the same directory? To update it to latest version?

2.I have many Systems running via Retroarch, about to start testing them properly, What should I go into to make the Games look better? Shaders etc? Im new to this side of it?

3.I am using ePSX for my Playstation emulator...the games look pretty dull on my 1080p TV/Monitor...what setting can I use to make it look a little better?

4. I am using Bezels in most Systems, the bezels seem to look pretty stretched....Is there 1920x1080p bezels out there?

I understand these systems are older but I thought with shaders/Mods etc I could make them look a lot better.

What am I looking for to do this within emulators.

Thanks for any help given

I wasn't a fan of retroarch because it was such a pain in the ass for me when I started using it... for some reason it ran way too fast! not exactly sure why it was running that fast.. I believe I was trying to emulate Atari games and TurboGraphics 16 games. I started messing around with it again today because it was the only emulator I could get to actually work with Sega Saturn in Hyperspin.... I finally got it working great today and to answer your question about making the games look better.. the shaders are definitely what you want to be using... I'm still new to retroarch but just try going into the settings and playing around with stuff.

One bit of advice but you probably already know it.... just remember to delete the old config files when you make changes (rename the name-1.cfg to name.cfg)

So when I update retroarch, I delete the configuration files.. I'm new to RA as well..Little apprehensive about it. I did a trial update on another folder but it stopped working completely.. All ahk errors.. So I went back to old version of Ra. I thought it would be just as easy as installing new version over old.

As for the graphics.. I'll mess about with shaders in epsx first.

Do you guys run most emulators in bezel mode when running through large tv?

I'm only using retroarch for Sega Saturn Emulation so I would probably just install a fresh copy of the latest version and just re do my settings or just copy my old config files from the old folder into the new folder. The thing with Retroarch seems to be the cores.. I remember finding a copy that had a ton of cores and one that didn't have many at all so I guess that would be a factor. Honestly just try to install a fresh new copy of the latest version and copy your old config files but being that you're new to it just go with a fresh new install... should be the best route.
