rastan Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Specifically systems like Sega ST-V. I realize these systems have their own Emulators like SSF (which in most cases run the games better or at lest some people say they run the games better.. to each is own) but in most cases MAME seems to do a good enough job especially for someone like myself that truly believes in the part about "being able to play the games is a NICE side effect" I was breaking my neck trying to find Sega Titan stuff and finally got the idea to just download the XML from hyperlist and like I figured (as with ZINC) the stuff I was looking for was already in my MAME ROMSET.
rastan Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 A whole metric crap ton of them. I assume you want just the ones that people typically make as a system of their own? Simply look at the databases available and pick out the arcade systems from their and they will most likely be in mame. Or look at the module and see what systems it has in the entry. That's just it I'm using what is available from the XML's at Hyperlist and for the most part anything that said MAME (systems like CPS 1, etc) I obviously have those but there are systems like ST-V and ZINC which didn't mention MAME so didn't think to use those XML's until recently when I just did some trial and error and was shocked that they worked with MAME. Granted I can pick out the Arcade systems that I'd know but there are systems that I wasn't even up on like ZINC so I'm just wondering if there is a list that specifically lists all the systems for MAME because the one on the HYPERLIST doesn't mention mame on all of them.
rastan Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 I know anyone can make a system just by using a XML tool like don's but I'm looking for the systems that probably aren't listed under mame because they have their own Emulators like Zinc and ST-V but they run fine in MAME anyways. I'm just going by what's on the Hyperlist XML's and noticed they didn't mention mame for a few of the systems that mame actually runs. I probably was more shocked that I was wasting time trying to find stuff that I already had in my mame ROMSET.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 You could open up the module in notepad++ and see the possible systems. 2 issues..... Problem is you now have mess and mame combined. So by saying MAME, in theory you now have hundreds of systems not just arcade. However if you was to find an older module, pre 163 off top of head you may get lucky. The other problem. Even if you did find the list and it did show arcade only. Many systems run like shot and are better on their own emu.... And vice versa.... Example.... AAE to me runs better in MAME for the vector shaders and backgrounds. But ST-V runs like shit...hehe. then you got the pkaychoive series.... Etc etc etc.... List goes on mate Simply Austin's YouTube

rastan Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Was using the AAE emulator but thanks for the feedback I'm gonna switch to using MAME. Yeah, I notice the ST-V runs like crap in mame... I have SSF and some .BIN/.CUE Titan stuff so I'll check that out later on.
