tklass Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Hi There, I just had to reinstall hyperspin on my machine and using 1.4 with the default joystick control out of the box. Everything is working now but for the life of me i could not figure out how to switch from the 2nd player joystick to the 1st player controls to move the wheel and select the games.
tklass Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 I did not see a way to define which one was used to set the default. I did try disabling the second controls but then nothing worked. I somehow managed to do this before but i cannot remember how i got it working
Avar Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 In the HyperHQ->Controls->Joystick sub-menu, if you click "Set Joy ID" you should be able to define which controls are Player 1. Technically, you should be able to have distinct menu controls for both Player 1 and Player 2 that way, with the IDs set and all the controls configured. Other than that, is the checkbox marked "Joystick 1 Enabled." If none of that works for you we'll have to dig a bit deeper.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 IF YOU STILL GOT ISSUES: 1st make sure you have the correct driver installed for your PC. It may be that it still works, but it is not configured correctly. So when you go to use a fussy or complicated program/emulator it trips itself up. Set the drivers up first... This may help navigate your Device Manager and driver issues (360s are bad for it).... Ok once thats done, you need to set your JoyID like Avar said, this is what HS uses to figure which controller is which. Be aware even non controller USB devices can still mess this up so unplug everything that is USB or controller first.. then... 1. Plug in ONLY the controllers you want to use. 2. reset your machine to set all USB and connections to default (they may still show or be in an order from your previous connections). 3. Now configure HyperHQ controls. Ensure you have the right JoyID for each player in terms of the controllers you use. Now give it a go! (and pray) Simply Austin's YouTube
tklass Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 so my player 1 joystick is set to 0 and player 2 is set to 1. Both are enabled and the buttons are set. I have reset them a bunch of times i believe that this is what i did last time to switch it.
tklass Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 I'm using the xin-mo controller so there is only one usb plug
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 arrrrr.... now we are getting somewhere me hearties problems there has been with those and some basic setups! Many a swashbuckler has been shipwrecked upon the controls with those. Even to the stage people have had to sail full mast upon the good ship "Startup Script" or use 3rd party plugins for the most simple sea shanties (tasks). Seems your ship of choice does not sail well in some waters arrrrrr Not sure why I did that in Pirate tongue... but I like it! Simply Austin's YouTube
Avar Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 USB IDs can be a pain sometimes. Are they switching on you with reboot or anything funky like that? Austin gives some great advice above and everything he suggested is really the best approach to troubleshooting this sort of thing as effectively as possible.
tklass Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Thanks i am going to give it a try and let you know how it goes thank you so much for all your help!
