Nestopia - Shutdown with Power Button, Windows 7

Having and issue with Windows 7 not shutting down when in Nestopia and pressing the PC's power button to shutdown. When I press the power button, I see the task manager come up with "this program is preventing windows from shutting down". In all other emulators I'm allowed to do this and windows closes each program on exit. Does anyone know how to have Nestopia get shut down if I press the power button on my PC?

Not trying to force shut down. What usually happens if you hit the power off button, Windows 7 automatically closes down running applications and does a clean shutdown. It won't do it with Nestopia for some reason.
