Hyperspin alternative video link broke

Hi there!

I've changed the "Nintendo GameCube.ini" in C:\HyperSpin\Settings to map to an alternative video path. Weird thing is that when I'm opening the GameCube wheel in HS it still directs to the native video folder  :wallbash: I've tested this by copying one of my video's to that folder and it's the only one showing up.

[video defaults]
path=E:\HyperSpin\Media\Nintendo GameCube\Video

Is there an alternative setting that can overrule this? I did the same thing for MAME without issues.

Also, and I don't know if this is related, HQ crashes when I tried changing the setting by wheel settings.

I'm assuming that you're running Windows 10 because the crashing in HyperHQ when selecting a path is a known issue for 10, you have to edit the paths manually in the ini file. Are you saying that when you manually set a different video path in the ini that it doesn't work?

You are correct on the windows 10 and I did indeed set the video path in the ini manually. It saved successfully but SOMEHOW it still points at the native folder...

I've also noticed now that HyperSync downloads my video's again!

Although I already have them all available in my alternative folder it thinks they don't exist yet and downloads them again to my alternative folder.

I use alternate video folders on both of my machines and I've never had an issue. Make sure that you guys have typed the path correctly, including a backslash \ at the end of the path, otherwise it will revert to using the default video path inside the HS media folder.

Adding the baclslash at the end solved the issue... Weird because I didn't use it in the MAME settings... But thanks!  :thumbsup:

It's possible that MAME doesn't need one at the end because it's a single word. If the ending folder for your GameCube path is 2 words (Nintendo GameCube) it may only read the first word if a backslash isn't included. Therefore, it would read the path as something like Video\Nintendo instead of Video\Nintendo GameCube, that folder doesn't exist, and reverts to using the default.

I'm just guessing, my path has no spaces until the system name at the end of the path and if I don't include a backslash it goes to default.

Sounds plausible!
