zephyr1286 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 How's everyone, I just installed the new Hyperspin release with Rocketlauncher a couple of days ago. I have everything pretty much figured out following SimplyAustin's instructions which are pretty much dead on. When I installed Mame and loaded the roms on rocket launcher and launch after auditing everything works fine. I have Windows 8 on the computer I bought to build the system. I ran into some issues when it updated to 8.1 so I reverted back to Windows 8. I do know that the rom path has to be accurate in order for Hyperspin to detect Rocketlauncher and run the rom. On my computer all the files are not labeled as .ini or.exe, so all the files just have the names of the file without those at the end. If I do add the .ini or .exe everything does not work correctly. The launch path for me is A:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher, but when I used that at first it could not detect rom path. I deleted everything and replaced all of Hyperspin and now it does not do anything when I press enter to open the rom selected. I know the buttons are configured correctly since I can hit Enter and go into the different emulators on Hyperspin. When I do go into the Settings to change the launch path to A:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe and try to open a Mame rom I get a message saying CAN NOT FIND A:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI\Databases\MAME\MAME.xml If I change the RocketLauncher file to RocketLauncher.exe then the RocketLauncherUI does not work. I appreciate all the help I can get. Before I decided to write this post I exhausted all efforts to get it to worked. I followed other forum post and still nothing. Thanks
zephyr1286 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Wow, After all those hours of troubleshooting and doing different things it was that simple. I should of known also, makes perfect sense but you get side tracked and blind after a while of messing with it. It is working perfectly now. Thank You
griffin518 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Ok so this is really weird... I'm now having the same issue, but the only thing I've done is copy my install from one machine to another. I've confirmed the path, plugin, etc. Still won't work. Everything launches fine from RocketLauncher, and it still works properly on the first machine. Does anyone have any ideas? griffin518 Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 nevermind... I solved it. For some reason my gobal settings front-end path got reset. This is really weird. Thanks anyway! Edit: ok, so here's the scoop. I've copied everything across my home network (vs using a USB drive) and for some reason Windows 10's homegroup sharing prevents me from seeing/copying the Global Bezel.ini, Global RocketLauncher.ini, and RocketLauncher.ini files. So everything was getting reset as RLUI was recreating them at "first execution". What a huge pain! I dug my USB drive out and am re-copying everything now.
pspencer801 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Help my problem is this I have followed Austin video everythin seems in order, rocketlauncer works, hyperspin says cant find launcer, when I load a rom. rRocket pointed to frontend / active for hyperspin , Games are green ,settin.ini changed (gensis test subject, using fusion (retroarch doesnt like my computer) everything works in rocket)
pspencer801 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Can you post your HyperSpin log? It's the log.txt file inside your HyperSpin folder. 08:48:30 AM | HyperSpin Started 08:48:30 AM | Going FullScreen 08:48:31 AM | Checking for updates 08:48:31 AM | Update Check Complete 08:48:31 AM | Startup program unavailable 08:48:31 AM | Playing intro video 08:48:50 AM | Menu Mode is multi 08:48:50 AM | Loading Main Menu.xml 08:48:50 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 08:48:50 AM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 08:49:00 AM | Loading Sega Genesis.xml 08:49:00 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 08:49:01 AM | Sega Genesis wheel loaded successfully 08:49:12 AM | Launching Game 08:49:12 AM | Using HyperLaunch 08:49:12 AM | Getting Launcher path 08:49:12 AM | Launcher located at C:\Users\pspencer801\Desktop\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe 08:49:12 AM | Running Launcher 08:49:12 AM | Launcher Command Line is: C:\Users\pspencer801\Desktop\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe "Sega Genesis" "Addams Family Values (Europe)" 08:49:53 AM | Quiting Hyperspin 08:49:53 AM | Bye! This time it said something about no gensis database in rocket sega.xml I think never loaded the rom
pspencer801 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 RocketLauncher is properly connected, although you should really have it installed on the root of a drive instead of your desktop to avoid those really long file paths. For the database error follow the instructions in post #2. Think you very much all good
Tite379 Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Hi, First and foremost I am a newbie and I have been researching building a cabinet for some time now, more so the programs behind the build. So I started on getting the programs installed (HS/RLUI) and all new updates. Everything works fine on RL but when I load up HS and find the game and hit enter nothing happpens. On RL general settings I do have the default front end set to the path of Hyperspin.exe and have the default plugin set to HS. I've watched countless hrs of videos read forums and I'm not the type to ask for help but I've tried everything and I'm sure it's something simple. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my log of HS and I know I should have HS in the root of the drive 07:23:18 PM | HyperSpin Started 07:23:18 PM | Going FullScreen 07:23:19 PM | Checking for updates 07:23:19 PM | Update Check Complete 07:23:19 PM | Startup program unavailable 07:23:19 PM | Playing intro video 07:23:22 PM | Menu Mode is multi 07:23:22 PM | Loading Main Menu.xml 07:23:22 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 07:23:23 PM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 07:23:25 PM | Loading MAME.xml 07:23:25 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 07:23:26 PM | MAME wheel loaded successfully 07:23:32 PM | Launching Game 07:23:32 PM | Using HyperLaunch 07:23:32 PM | Getting Launcher path 07:23:32 PM | Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 07:23:32 PM | Launcher located at C:\Users\Home\Documents\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch.exe 07:23:32 PM | Running Launcher 07:23:32 PM | Launcher Command Line is: C:\Users\Home\Documents\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch.exe "MAME" "tekken3" 07:23:36 PM | Loading Main Menu.xml 07:23:36 PM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 07:23:36 PM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 07:23:37 PM | Exit program unavailable 07:23:37 PM | Quiting Hyperspin 07:23:37 PM | Bye!
