Diagnosing Hyperspin Control problems

Hey Guys I was hoping you help diagnose a problem I am having with my Arcade style controls in in hyper spin.

In short, joysticks and buttons work fine in games, very buggy in hyper spin.

Syptoms:

-hard to control wheel spins in Mame, skips several games at a time on the wheel from one push of the stick,

- Uncontrolled wheel spins in certain systems like SNES.

- Temporary loss of control during any theme animation for games ( this is when the game play video fades in)

- Complete loss of control during any game themes downloaded from Hyperspin.fe (I removed these and the problem went away)

 - Complete loss of control during some system splash page animations/themes, particularly NES and Sega Master system.

- Button mapping is spotty… particularly what I choose as the start button, Ive tried using different buttons for start, but it seems to default back to button 1, also the exit multi key function doesn’t work well.  I’ve tried to bypass this by using joy to key and adding a button for escape)

- I tired to bypass all of this by using joy to key for everything… but then the controls didn’t work in the games ( as I type this it occurs to me I might just need to change the controls in Rocket Launcher to make the joy to key work)

I can use the keyboard with full functionality during any of these problems, so it seems to be an issue with the usb joystick and hyperspin… as the controls still function fine within games.. (Well that said it doesn’t work well with driving games like cruising usa. Im not sure if you would call these sticks analog since they are just micro switches)

I'm using the most recent version of Hyperspin and Rocket Launcher. I followed SimplyAustin’s guide to set up.

I have this kit from amazon, for my cabinet build. Its a Chinese version of an Easyget USB board.  I think you would call the joysticks sanwa style... but im not sure.

The buttons seem like decent quality, though the joysticks make a loud clicking noise from the micro switches. Set up was very easy. Plug and play.

I probably haven’t explained this very well, but any help would be greatly appreciated.  I’m new with this and still learning.
