Tomkun Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Recently, I can't tell you since when exactly, Daphne has started being very to slow to open/close games. It used to be near instantaneous, but now it can take up to 20 or so seconds to quit. It happens when using both RocketLauncher and Daphne Loader, so it's not a settings issue. It's excluded from my antivirus, so it's not that either. Anyone else notice something similar or know of a fix?
volumetric Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Try disabling logging in Rocketlauncher. If its set to troubleshooting, that can slow you down.
Tomkun Posted November 16, 2016 Author Posted November 16, 2016 Good advice, but already done. Besides, it happens even if I don't use Rocket Launcher.
volumetric Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Bummer, the only other thing i can think of off the top of my head would be that maybe you switched off fastboot in your daphne module settings in RocketLauncher. I dont think daphne has fastboot set by default, so if your RL settings for daphne somehow got scrubbed, both daphne and RL may take longer.
Tomkun Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 Thanks again, really good advice but already done... What I have tried: 1. Changing settings in Daphne. Didn't help, although I don't believe this to be the cause as it used to run fine with the same settings. 2. Running without a paging file. Didn't seem to help much if at all and wouldn't be a useful fix anyway. 3. Copying Daphne and games to another disk and running from there. Didn't help. I can only assume therefore it's something to do with the computer. As nothing else is broken at the moment I'm going to assume it's not hardware. Perhaps a Windows update or driver update messed something up? I'm going to copy everything to another PC this weekend and see how it runs there.
