Hyperspin freezes on game exit

I still have this problem occasionaly.  I press the exit button to go back to hyperspin....   but it doesn't freeze anymore. It does nothing!  It's as though the exit button has lost focus? Weird. I have to bring up task manager to get back to Windows then restart hyperspin. 

Doesn't do it all the time, hardly at all,  but did it yesterday when I was playing a light gun game with aimtrack guns.  operation thunderbolt,  two of us playing  got right to the end...  died of course, then tried to exit   Pressed button...  nothing happened  

Both the hyperspin key in hyper hq and exit emulator key in rocketlauncher ui are mapped to the same button...  not ESC key.  If I map them to escape that's when it freezes. 

No idea!
