Tool for renaming files "inside" zip archive

I've tried several of the renaming tools (Don's, Tur-Matcher, etc) with various success but I've had the highest success rate with HyperSpin Rom Manager.

I've just had it rename all my Dreamcast files and it successfully found 281 out of the 330 or so ROMS in the database, saving me a ton of time.

The problem is that it renamed the zip files but not the files inside, so NullDC won't actually work.

Is there a tool that will "also" rename the files "inside" the zip file to the same name it's renaming the zip file itself to?

I can't seem to find one but if someone could make one it would save a lot of people a lot of time.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hmmm.  I only see four options on the main screen when I bring up the renamer and no menu for other options.  Am I looking right at it?

I just did a search and downloaded 4.2.6.  Is that the latest version?  It still has just the four options I mentioned.  If there is a newer version, do you have the version number or a link?  That way I can make sure we're on the same page.

Thanks so much!

Ok, I found the latest option but have no clue how to use it.

I set it for cd and it wants to know the romset naming convention - defaults to no intro but I have no clue if that is correct and it also wants me to select file extensions and best match filename.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

My zip files are already named properly.  It's just the files "inside" the zip files that need to be renamed to what the zip files are named, if that makes sense. :)

Thanks again,

Looks like we were posting at the same time. :)  I found it.  Thanks so much for your help.

Do you have any suggestions re my last post?  I'm a bit overwhelmed with the options and don't know where to begin.

My zip files are named correctly already.  It's just the files inside that need renamed and I don't know how to set the options to do that or if that can be done.

BTW, do you suggest using crc, fuzzy math, or both?  The zip files themselves are already named correctly, so does it matter which I choose?

Ok, I see now.  I thought you meant it didn't matter because I had them named correctly already.  I understand now.

Thanks again,

I thought I'd update here just in case others were wondering how it went.

It automatically "guessed" only 20 out of 330+ titles which was a real bummer.

It had an option where I could manually match them, though, and that's what I did.

That took about 30 minutes for all 330+ titles.

Then it renamed them exactly how I had hoped it would and I'm all set.  The project is done and Dreamcast is now working with an almost complete set on my system.

I can recommend the newest version of the tool, but be prepared to manually match things up.

Thanks,
