Genre XML for Main Menu? (for Systems, not games)

I haven't set up genres on anything. Honestly I'm not really wanting too.

What I was wondering though is if it's possible to use a genres XML to assign each system to a "genre".

So, in effect, you'd be on the main menu with your giant system list.
Hit the Genre button.

Then re-name genres so you'd see "Handhelds", "Consoles", "Computers", & "Arcade" as the genre's.

That way, choosing the "genre" named "Handhelds" would only show you the main menu still, but only show you Game Boy, Game Gear, PSP, etc.
