Best way to setup a second controller for second player

Hi everyone. Well I have search hi and low and can not find an easy solution to my topic. I have setup xpadder to use my xbox 360 controller with my various emulators (nestopia, fusion, etc.) by mapping the key board keys to each button. I have also successfully setup up xpadder to run a default profile to control hyperspin.

Everything works great but I want to set up a second 360 controller to use got the 2nd player in most emulators. It seems xpadder simply can't do this because when I map the second profile it doesn't work properly and seems to not recognize it as a separate controller. So I found that of i set up the second controller in each individual emulator with joystick inputs it will work, BUT I found that the second input settings won't save once the controller is unplugged.

I am liking for a relatively easy solution to this problem of not having a reliable player 2 input. I am willing to try anything. Thanks everyone!

I use xpadder but don't use a 360 controller.. I have a logitech f320 or whatever it's called and a generic usb ps2 type controller... I only use the second controller for mame and set it up fine in xpadder... I do remember it was a bit tricky at first setting up the second controller but I remember finding some info online somewhere... it was a while ago so I don't remember exactly where. I'm using basic USB controllers also so perhaps its a bit more tricky with two xbox 360s?
