i posted this over at BYAOC but figure i will try it here as well. im looking to use hyper spin on my new cab as well!

i just built a new pc using new and used parts.

i3-3220

asus h16-m motherboard

8 gigs ddr3

ati hd5750

windows7

the cab i have is a old ballys sente. i retro fitted it so i can use a makvison 24.8 monitor.

ok heres the problem im having i didnt know this until i pluged up my monitor. upon boot up the monitor made a horrible clicking sound with garbage on the screen. i thought myself that a received a broken monitor, but after a bit of trial and error i realized that asus boards uefi bios outputs a higher res that is throwing my monitor out of sync. and after a bit more research windows 7 does this as well. so far my solution is just to wait until windows is fully booted and turn on the monitor which work awesome after that. i purchased an arcadevga(5000) from ultimarc thinking this might fixed my problem but after reading around i heard it still has problem displaying uefi bios. im still going to install it and try it out. i would really like to power everything on at once. instead of routing a new switch to the front for the monitor as well. its not a problem if i have to but trying to find more solutions. '

so hers my question. is there a converter that outputs all singles from my pc to the moniter at a lower res setting? 640X480 31khz? i know im a bit late but i did see the ultracade uvc which would be perfect to bad it out of production. and also read up on the gonbes (GBS-8220) not sure if that is same type of converter? is there any other solutions?

heres where im torn a bit as well.

im worried that i might be taking a hit graphical wise using the arcade vga as well. im looking to play a few naomi games running demul and tatio type x games. that one of the reason im trying to find a converter as well so i can still keep my previous gpu in the pc. unless anybody has exprience running AVGA(5000) with newer type games? how does it run?

i really appreciate any help and look forward to your answers.

I started upgrading my cab a little a few weeks ago and went with the same ArcadeVGA card. My biggest pain with this card and Windows 7 was getting video's to work in the later versions of Hyperspin. Solution for that is here. One of the big reasons I went with this card was for the same "out of sync" problems as I have the Makvision 27/29 and it actually resolved the problem (that and it claims to run SF4 @ 60fps). No longer get out of sync on startup although I am not running an ASUS board.

As far as "newer" games go I've run SF4 Arcade Edition, Ultimate Mortal Kombat, Sine Mora and Ikaruga without any issues. Guess it all depends what you're trying to play and what resolution you're trying to play it at.
