metroplex2k7 Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Ok, I've installed HyperSpin on my PC with no problems at all. But, now I'm installing it on a friend's PC and I'm having a major issue. I have tested every system in RocketLauncher with no problems, they all run fine. But, when I start HyperSpin, I choose a system (no problems), then when I choose a game (be it with start on my xbox360 controller, or on the keyboard, it will not load the game. And yes my path is correctly set (g:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Oh, I used Simply Austin's video for installing HS and RL, I installed HS 1.33 full, then used the 1.4 update. And I installed RL 1.2 along with the RL Media Base Pack.
BATTLEDONKEY Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Simply Austin's videos are a bit outdated now, you will need to go into rocketlauncherui and under the general settings tab set the path for "default frontend path" and below it on base settings set "default plugin" to hyperspin
Avar Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 These should help. On top of that we're currently streamlining the whole process so e hope to make everything a lot easier in the near future.
metroplex2k7 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Thanks BD. I'll try it tomorrow and let you guys know. Thanks AV. I'd love to see you do videos on the CD systems. Some are confusing (DC - PS1 - 3do - Saturn - Daphne).
Avar Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Will do my best! Tutorials are gonna be a lil delayed as we're current working to make as many of them as unnecessary as possible I can say that Daphna will be extremely difficult for me to cover, not because the setup is overly complicated but because I don't think there's any way I can do it in an official sense. I went to do it a few months ago only to find that the traditional "official/legal" method of acquiring Daphne roms doesn't seem to exist anymore on account of the games being ported to Steam. I'll do my best to figure out how to do it.

metroplex2k7 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Ok, I did what you recommended BD, I changed the default frontend path to g:HyperSpin\HyperSpin.exe (per your tutorial vid AV)... still doesnt launch games. I'm gonna do a complete reinstall from scratch using your vid AV... let you guys know my results...
Avar Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Cheers. Yeah I hate to tell people to start over but it's often the easiest and safest way when you're still starting out.
metroplex2k7 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Ok, I moved everything off the G: drive, (an 8TB external drive). Then I noticed the drive was in exFAT, so I formatted it to NTFS. I then followed AV's tutorial. I downloaded (and installed) HS 1.33, then 1.4 update, then the 1.4.16 update to G: . Then I downloaded and installed RocketLauncher then the RL Base Media Pack. I did everything the tutorial said step by step: (default front end & default plugin is set to HyperSpin), added HyperSpin to the RocketLauncherUI tab. Did it all, fired up HyperSpin, selected the test system (NES), selected game (Contra), and it wont start. I don't know what else to do... It runs perfect in RL, but wont launch in HS. Also, I have Win 10 n my PC (which everything loaded fine for), he ha Win 7 on his... if that makes any difference.
Avar Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Could you please post your log.txt here for us to check out and double-check these two steps below:
Avar Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 Ok so we can see HyperSpin is talking to RL but RL isn't listening for some reason. Please very carefully double check the steps from the second video in my post above this one ^ The issue is likely in one of those settings. Sounds like your default frontend path in RL may be set to RocketLauncher and not HyperSpin.exe.
metroplex2k7 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
metroplex2k7 Posted June 2, 2017 Author Posted June 2, 2017 Sorry, I meant to tell both of you guys thanks so much for your patience and help, but my internet died right when I sent that picture. lol. Now I get to spend all day tomorrow reinstalling all the systems back into it. MAME, with ALL the CHDs (1+TB in total...) big fun.
