Joy2Key and/or RL/HSHQ Button Press for Game Launch

After 3 months of a first-time ever build, I feel I'm at like 96% done.  And I'm so happy.  I've never assembled a cabinet or configured so many software systems in my life. But now I've got a pretty neat arcade machine in my house for the  kids and their friends.

I'm at what feels like the very end, which is keymapping.

For background, my control board is the 2-player "Emulator Edition" from RecRoomMasters.  It's internal map is default mame, using an Ultimarc IPAC.

So far, I can enter into HyperSpin, and navigate through it freely.  So my joystick press up make the wheel go up, down goes down, etc.  And I can enter into sub menus. So I can be at the main systems page, and select NES, and the nes system and it's many games comes up and I can scroll through them. Conversely, I can exit and go back up a level. So my directional indications, and my [enter/exit, yes/no, select; however you want to think of it] indications work. So far so good.

But what I can't get is HyperSpin to recognize a game selection.  That is, when I get to a game within a system's wheel that I want to play, iI press my enter/start button but it won't launch the game.

What am I missing?  I can get HyperSpin to recognize that I am selecting/entering into and out of a menu/sub-menu, but it won't recognize I am selecting a game.  These are kind of the same, yes?

Or perhaps another way of asking this: what are the HyperSpinHQ / RocketLauncher / Joy2Key fields which are used to launch a game? Knwoing thsi might help me look at those fields specifically for a problem.

Thank you for your help,

Thanks for your guidance agent47.  I've just got around to tinkering with this again and also thanking you.

So it turns out that I didn't have run as admin on hyperspin.exe, which was causing the problem as you correctly identified.  I can't explain how that got unchecked, as it had been done a long time ago.  It's like troubleshooting step #1.  I would have never even looked at this again had you not suggested it. I have no idea what caused it to become unchecked.  But regardless, yeah, that was the problem.  I spent like 5 hours trying to combat this before I posted, and it was simply that admin was not indicated.

Wow.  But happily, now I'm like 98% done with this build.  Thank you all so much.
