Strange Hyperspin Bezel problem

Hello everyone!

I am quite confused about what is going on with my Hyperspin setup. I have built a standalone PC in a dedicated cabinet. I use a laptop for about all of my maintenance of the PC (MAME-PC). I work remotely by Remote Desktop (RDP). Today I had installed several bezels for a majority of my systems. As I did so remotely, all bezels loaded perfectly and I was even able to fine tune the screen size. So here is a photo of my Genesis bezel as seen on my laptop. You can see I am RDP into MAME-PC and can see the bezel. Looks pretty good!

Now I goto the Cabinet itself and log onto MAME-PC. I launch Hyperspin, select Sega Genesis, then select 3 Ninjas to test. WTF? Where is the bezel? Take a look at the MAME PC photo, no bezel!

Hmmm. I checked and made sure everything is where it belongs. Bezel is named _Default and zipped. It is in the RocketLauncher\Media\Bezels directory. And bezels is enabled in RLUI. I'm stumped.

Then I noticed when I EXIT the game, the bezel appeared for about 1/2 second upon exit to Game Wheel. Here is a video link to it on youtube:

How is it possible a remote computer sees more than what is displayed on the local computer?

Thank you for reading this, I look forward to your suggestions.

1. What emulator are you using for Sega Genesis, is it Mame?

2. Why do you have your bezel zipped?

You say you have the bezel in RocketLauncher\Media\Bezels, but just to be clear, you should have it in RocketLauncher\Media\Bezels\SystemName\_default, and it should be unzipped.

I am using Retroarch for the Sega Genesis. I am using it for the other systems except MAME for the MAME ROMS and MESS for Intellivision. Coincidentally,  the Bezels work with MAME and Intellivison. Only the Retroarch systems don't display.

I was mistaken about the paths, they are correct, ..\Bezels\SystemName\_default and unzipped.

Since the MAME and Intellivision systems work,  is this a Retroarch issue or setting?

Thanks!

Figured it out.

Thank you SupraKarma for getting my gears moving. I looked at the bezel.cfg file for the Genesis bezel and it looked like this:

overlays = 1 overlay0_overlay = Sega-Genesis.png overlay0_full_screen = true overlay0_descs = 0

The Intellivision had bezel.ini . Those contents were:
[General]
Bezel Screen Top Left X Coordinate=237
Bezel Screen Top Left Y Coordinate=0
Bezel Screen Bottom Right X Coordinate=1678
Bezel Screen Bottom Right Y Coordinate=1080

So what I did was remove the .cfg file from the Genesis bezel and replaced it with the .ini file from the Intellivision bezel and now it works. not sure why I have cfg files and not ini files in my other systems.

Right on, glad you figured it out.

I'd use MAME for Intellivision too, if I were you. MAME and MESS merged not too long ago, and MAME can now do everything that MESS could.
