I tried searching for my issue with no luck. I followed the SNES set up and still have an issue. When I try to launch an SNES game in Hyperspin, the screen flashes black and goes back to the Hyperspin menu. Thoughts on my set up issue? Thanks

Here's something that might shed some light:

Open hyperspin and try launching your SNES game and then exit out of hyperspin. In your hyperspin folder there is a file called log.txt. If there is an error (like hyperspin can't find the rom) it will be posted in there. And always make sure to try open the rom first through your emulator. If your emulator doesn't work then hyperspin can't open it.

I had this issue too, you need to find a "no-intro" SNES romset or figure out how to rename them( I couldnt figure this out) -- being a newbie and all, just google "no-intro SNES romset" and you should be able to locate something.

Is there another way then downloading a no intro SNES romset? is it maybe relabeling the romlist in XML? and how would this be done with SNES roms. is it with romlister aswell?

Hi guys, I'm have the exact same problem where launching the snes games from hyperspin (im using snes9x) only starts the emulator without actually loading the game.

I did check the log.txt of hyperspin, and there was no error. In actual fact, I copied and pasted the command that hyperspin runs as shown in the log, and when I manually put that same command in a CMD window, snes9x starts up and loads the game, so I really don't know what gives.

I have snes9x set up to execute in Normal mode, not using HyperLaunch, because that does not even work - another problem that. I know it has something to do with having to recompile the .ahk file, which I have done using an unofficial one posted by some firefox dude here, but that doesn't work either. Anyways, that's not the problem I'm trying to solve here (although if someone's got something to say on that as well, by all means).

I've also checked the std.out and std.err files of snes9x, but no clues there either.

Any pointers anyone? This one's got me stumped :hmmmm:

Hello, did anyone solve this? I'm having the same problem I think.

I tried using No-Intro ROMs, which didn't work either. The SNES9x 1.53 (with 1.53 ahk module) will not run the game if run through HyperLaunch 1.1.9.4 (tried running the HL exe directly, and in HS, and in HLHQ 1.0.13.0). SNES9x seems to run the zips fine if dragging and dropping onto its exe. ZSNES gives me a Direct Draw error in full-screen mode. Direct-X is up-to-date tho... idk

Oops, my bad! Thanks for the reply jeremy.

I meant HyperlaunchHQ 1.0.13.0. My HyperLaunch is 3.0.1.1 and HyperSpin is 1.3.2.0.

---------------------------------

Holy smokes it's working. Well... SNES9x isn't.. But the problem may be with DirectDraw being axed in Win7/8/8.1. If I run Zsnes in WinXP compatibility mode, it works!

now if I can just get xpadder working lol

Sources:

p.s. It's worth noting that the WingCommander DirectDraw hack doesn't work for zsneswin nor snes9x. Also, compatibility mode didn't work in full-screen for zsneswin.

--------------------------------------------

Update: Got Snes9x working. I was getting this problem with carts not loading, but I thought it was a laptop video card problem. WinXP compatibility mode isn't needed for Snes9x. AFAIK it is for zsnes though.
