Pedestal Cabinet Project

I just thought I would throw up a few pics of the cabinet I'm working on. I'll fill in some of the details later. I think I will have to get a bigger HHD 500Gigs filled up way to quickly. I was also thinking about running OS and Hyperspin on a SSD and using something like a 2 terabyte drive to store all roms on. Would this increase performance or is it a waist of time? Any input would be appreciated.

I've got a 120GB SSD holding my operating system, with Hyperspin and ROMS on a separate standard drive.

I had a regular drive in place instead of the SSD while I was testing, and the second I switched that drive out and put the SSD in there - wow! The increase in speed was incredibly noticeable, even with Hyperspin and the ROMS on a standard drive. Definitely worth it, I'd say!

Your cab looks really good so far, too! Great work! :)

Your cab looks awesome, I am planning/building a pedestal style right now. I have the cp all designed and cut out, but am having some trouble with the dimensions on the base. would you be willing to give me the dimensions you used on the sides of the base unit?

The base I made a lot bigger than the Dream Home arcade style. That way I can fit an actual PC in the cabinet instead of just bolting a mother board to MDF. I should be working on it tonight so I should be able to post some dimensions later. Sorry for the late response haven't checked the forum for a few weeks.

Got new handles! The original ones I got from Amazon broke the springs the first time I tried to use them. I also swapped out the XArcade control board for I-PAC4. I wasn't happy with having to hit the load button twice for the save state to load. I want it to be drunken operator friendly.
