The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Downloading Numbered NDS Roms - Can't Rename??

Hello,

The only download I can find for Nintendo DS Roms has them all numbered and they don't match the database.

The Nintendo DS.xml file I have, has CRC info, but when I use Don's Tools to try and rename, it doesn't find a single match, not even for one file.

I tried the fuzzy scan and that doesn't come up with any results, either.

I can't find a good NDS rom set to download that is HyperSpin ready, so I don't really have a choice but to download what I'm downloading, but if I can't get them renamed, I've wasted a ton of bandwidth and time.  It will take me days to download this set and I'm only about 10% complete but wanted to try to rename the files I already have just to make sure it was going to work out.

I'd really appreciate any tips or tricks to get this renaming to work.

I've also tried Turmatch or something like that and couldn't figure it out.  It opens a window asking for media on step 5 or 6 or something like that, but doesn't say what it's looking for.  I've tried selecting my rom folder and it just won't allow me to select that.  I don't know what to do...

Thanks,

1. Use a program called Flash Renamer to remove the first 7 characters (the four digit number, the hyphen and the two spaces) from each file. It can batch process them as one lot, but they will need to be unzipped.

2. Use Hyperspin Fake File generator to make dummy files of the official database.

3. Finally use Fatmatch to match the rom names with the dummy files created in step two.
