shaitand Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Trying to get started with HyperSpin on a new fully updated windows 10 install... which of course didn't work at all due to the windows 10 update/HS bugs resolved in 1.5.1. Now hyperhq launches (very slow start for some reason) and hyperspin launches (Win 7 compat, run as admin on both). Woot! I can press a key to skip the intro video annnnnddd... that is the end of anything from the keyboard responding, I have to hit ctrl+alt+del and end task hyperspin (alt+f4 might work, haven't tried). I can alt+tab off and back on and it makes no difference. I am able to map controls in hyperhq, the ini files update and list codes next to keys when I change something but this seems to have no impact in hyperspin. Resetting default, and even deleting the P1 and P2 Controls sections of settings.ini seems to have no impact. I have a tankstick with trackball. Disabling the trackball seems to allow the keyboard controls to work. Presumably the keyboard should function with the trackball enabled?
ninja2bceen Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 No problems here. You sure you just replaced the exe? Maybe it’s your computer spec?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
shaitand Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 Other than enabling trackball/setting keys and setting rom paths for the mame wheel, yes. I can't say it is related to the upgrade because pre-upgrade you couldn't load hyperspin at all on windows 10 so it definitely didn't work. Now, trackball on, no direction keys work, trackball off, keys work.
