3y3c0ugh Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I all, I've spent quiet a while looking around for a fix to an issue I seem to be having that involves TurboGrafx running on PCE. I'm using HyperLaunch3 and Magic Engine 1.1.3, which is specified as the test emulator in the module ank for HyperLaunchHQ. Hyperspin launches opens ROMs, but I seem to have this issue where everything seems to be running at x2 the speed it should be. I thought maybe it was bad ROMs and I tried downloading several different games, but they all seem to emulate quick. Is there anyone who has any pointers to give me on this issue, or what is causing it?

Open up your PCE.INI file. Look for cpu_clock= and make sure it's either blank or 7. Like this: [pce] ; ; CPU clock frequency in MHz (7 - 35) ; -- ; 7 -> 100% speed [default] ; 14 -> 200% speed ; .. ; 35 -> 500% speed ; cpu_clock= ; ; extended horizontal resolutions (320/352) ; -- Or: [pce] ; ; CPU clock frequency in MHz (7 - 35) ; -- ; 7 -> 100% speed [default] ; 14 -> 200% speed ; .. ; 35 -> 500% speed ; cpu_clock=7 ; ; extended horizontal resolutions (320/352) ; -- Thanks, Ron Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them. 3y3c0ugh Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 rfancella, thank you for the help. My settings were shown correctly, and left blank like the first suggestion. After hard coding in setting "7" it slowed itself to normal speed. Appreciate the help, thanks again.

3y3c0ugh Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Me too. I was actually fooled into thinking this worked for me. So when I tested this the first time my settings were saved in the pce.ini file. When loading HyperSpin and starting TurboGrafx, I was still getting super speed. Makes it hard to play Air Zonk when you can't move out of the way from things flying at you! I snooped around my setting since you got me in there and found out that Open GL ("1") wasn't working correctly for Magic Engine for me. I hard coded in to use DirectX which should be ("0"). Everytime I launch Magic Engine, and then went back in to the pce.ini I found it was resetting my hard code to "1" which is OpenGL. After several attempts to overwrite my saves it didn't work. I just went into the Module for magic engine and hard coded the ANK to be DirectX. I'm now working perfect everytime in HyperSpin. Thanks for the help!
