darknight_723 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Hi all, I have been using Hyperspin for a while with a variety of emulators and roms with no problem (after a long time of learning the ropes), but I have a problem I have not been able to find any info on nor figure out myself. I have since updated most of my emulators and roms to MESS, which I can get to work fine with Hyperspin but some consoles games can not be played from a directory, only from the software list within MESS. Is it possible through Hyperspin to make MESS launch from the software list instead of trying to launch from a directory?
brolly Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 MESS module already supports this, but 90% of the systems won't need software lists to run.
darknight_723 Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Great, thanks. Prior to your post I found a .ini file in the same folder as the .ahk file for the MESS module. it has a setting under [sNK Neo Geo AES] UseSoftwareList=false I changed it to true but am still not having any luck getting any games to boot, what other steps need I to take to get things in working order? also in the .ini file it states, # UseSoftwareList - Set to true if you want to launch the game using MESS Software list, if you set this to true MAKE SURE you have a proper rom mapping file that maps your rom names to MESS names. Either that or manually edit the respective software list under MESS\hash to your rom names. My NeoGeo roms are all named to the system name defualt of mess as are all my mess roms ex - 2020 Super Baseball (set 1) named 2020bb.zip can get it working fine outside of hyperspin through software list because neogeo dose not support directories. -EDIT- Never mind the above I figured out the problem, I needed to update hyperLaunch Thank tho.
garciarubz Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Help. How did you convert your Mess Roms to xml format. I have Mess149 roms but having a hard time creating xml for individual systems. If any one can please point me in the right direction.
