Cryofax
Greetings everyone. This is my first post but I've been around a while playing with Hyperspin. Oh so many times I considered walking away and going to something with a gentler learning curve, but I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. So my question regards the transition between themes. Is there anyway to modify certain behaviors that take place? It seems the wheel pops out immediately, then the pointer and any non-delayed artwork, then the transition kicks in (the background image doing various cool things) etc. Can I modify the when and how the wheel pops out? Also since input is active right away, if I begin moving the wheel while the transitions are still taking place they stop in their tracks until I release input. Then continue and stop again if I do more input. Most transitions seem to be roughly 2 seconds and it's quite easy for an eager player to pause the transition mid-stream and end up with a half-formed theme screen that is only finished when he lets go of the stick. EDIT : Looks like not only does input stop the background transition animation, but actually causes it to restart when you release the input. Perhaps some way to delay input for a second or two would solve it.
Cryofax
Followup question to the above. Does anyone know what the level 1 backgrounds do? I see progressively complex transitions with levels 2-4 but there seems to be no difference between just level 1 being checked and nothing checked. I was hoping it was a simple fade-in.
