Hyperspinner5000 Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Hi, i am aware of the "CTRL + F11" option to quit this emulator and it does work, i believe the reason this has been added is because some games actually require you to press escape to exit some option menus and of course the default escape to quit is causing it to skip straight back out to hyperspin so its a nice addition. However, i cant seem to stop the escape key from going back out to hyperspin everytime. Even with this option enabled. Does anyone have a workaround?
rocktofakie Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Hi. I have to admit, I don‘t fully understand your question. Can you tell me what exactly you do and what do you want to do? Do you use a keyboard and/or an ipac?Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
Hyperspinner5000 Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 My apologies. Thanks for the reply. I will try to explain in more detail. My setup is as follows: A xin-mo 2 player board using xpadder to map some keyboard commands. A hyperspin setup using rocketlauncher as the backend. I have WinUAE running my Amiga setup (and Amiga CD32 which i am having troubles setting up controls for but thats another post for another day). When in hyperspin, i select an amiga game from the list and it all loads up perfectly and works. Some Amiga games need the keyboard to function so i cant use only my joystick. This is no problem and is expected as the Amiga was a computer after all. Some games require me to use the keyboard to select options so that i can enable the joystick, but then the options menu requires you to press escape on the keyboard to exit the options. The escape key on the keyboard will quit the emulator and throw you back out to the "select game" part of hyperspin. I have set up my hyperspin "exit" button to be the 'end' key and not escape to navigate round this, also on WINUAE there is an option that you can select which says 'Use CTRL-F11 to quit' which i presume stops the escape key from quitting; this would seem like the perfect option but selecting it does not seem to stop the escape key on the keyboard from going back out to hyperspin. I was just wondering if anyone who has the Amiga fully setup and working on Hyperspin (with a Rocketlauncher backend), knows any workaround to this, or has the same problem and just never plays games in which you need to use the escape key. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: I found the solution to the problem. As i suspected, Hyperspin and WinUAE are working fine and as expected so i turned my attention to the only other thing on the system and thats RocketLauncher. The Global settings for quitting an emulator are set to the escape key. Changing this to something else such as the 'end' key, solves this problem, alternitively you can just edit it in system settings if you still wanted to use a global key for everything else. A simple problem to solve but one that eluded me for longer than it should have.
rocktofakie Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 Happy to hear that you solved your Problem. I also had a hard time to find the perfect exit key. Another Problem was to separate the keys from my ipac and the keyboard. Since the ipac is a keyboard too all letters used for the joysticks were gone from the keyboard. I hope you already know that you can configure different keyboard. I still have that problem with Commodore 64 and I don’t know if there’s a solution. Another funny thing is, that I was able to set up the Amiga but don’t get the Amiga CD games to run. But I will try again. Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
