The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Hyperspin "preinstalled and Ready-to-use" pack?

Hello everyone,

I'm still struggling a lot with my project, too many days between the settings. Anyway.

On a French website, they've done some ready to use LCD pack, Cab pack or Mame pack etc... what about a "officil default" pack?

For example, I would like to stick as close as possible from the official realease, but when you're a noob, ilt's not quite easy.

What about dedicated pack? Where we just have to download via torrent or filesharing website? Nothing illegal I mean (excluding rom of course).

Simple idea, would like to have your opinion about it.

bonus question: can we discuss about Pleasuredom or it's forbidden here? Cause i'm totally lost.

Cheers from France.

Bonus question should be discussed in Gold member forum. The ready to use packs on that website probably create more problems than they fix. Quite obviously you couldn't include emulators, nor roms, and all of the artwork is available through HyperSync... so... I mean when you download Hyperspin you ARE downloading the official default pack.... what you want to add to it is your business, and 99 percent of the fun.

Thanks for your answer. As a beginner, i'm quite fed up about installing and reinstalling from scratch my HS cause every ten days i forgot what i've done previously, but i guess, i'm learning in the main time.

I've already done a "ready to start" pack, just need to unzip, and launch hyperlaunchHQ and point the various folder/exe as stated in the installation guide. Even git and tortoise are included. I didn't included Hypersync, cause not everyone is a gold/platinum member.

Ok, i will still keep a couple of day the pack, in case of someone is interested in this project. It would have been my small contribution to this community.

Mydriaze - I have to admit in my early days of HS (so about 3yrs ago) I struggled like hell. It took me ages to get my head around script editing and lets not even go down how long it took me to setup Taito X. But eventually it clicked and I got there.

Now due to another child in the house (we have x4 little mites now) I had a year off and only got back into all this about 6 weeks ago, which meant I had to re-install HS and the all new hyperlaunchHQ, which in turn a whole load of re-configuring. But I have to say its sooooo much easier now to get a system going than before, which is testament to the great work that the folks here have completed.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that assuming you have GIt running and have the lastest build and are following the guide its quite easy now to add new systems. If you are re-installing every 10days due to problems something is a miss? My advice would be to simply work on one build at a time and follow the same steps each time (from your own notes) and get into the habit of following the exact same process.

Sorry if it seems i'm making it sound easy as I know it can be over whelming.

Like aletter says this install may cause you other problems that may be even more difficult to diagnose.....

I've gone through the whole process three times from scratch. The first time I was dazzled, newly platinum, and I focused on artwork. The second time I was practical and focused on emulation. The third, most recent time, I set up over 60 systems running (including fresh install of emulators, artwork, GIT, hyperspin/hq etc) in like 2 hours. (I set hypersync to download everything while I slept, if that counts) Not perfect, but functional. And I don't just mean the emulators I could use. I mean like every emulator there is a module for that correlated to a system I was interested in. And I'm not savvy at all. I think the only time sinks are renaming files and setting up controllers. Setting up a system in Hyperspin through HyperlaunchHQ is quite simple and not time consuming at all when you know how. It should really take you less than five minutes per system. I mean HyperlaunchHQ even has links to emulator websites so you don't even have to google search. I guess my point is that it will be faster for you to just buckle down and get rearing than it will be looking for a quick fix like a torrent. And of course, feel free to ask questions. There are dozens of tutorials out there.

HyperLaunchHQ has a save settings feature so you may find that useful. So if you do make a mistake you can revert back to a previously saved group of settings.

ok, I deleted my ready-to-use pack. Nevermind, going throungh the whole process and sweat tears and blood is alway a good practice. End of transmission.
