Can't enter emulator menu, keeps reverting to main menu

Hi,

I've shifted machines and copied my hyperspin from the old machine to the new machine. Hyperlaunch is all working fine, directory structure is the same (D:\Hyperspin\[everything] on old machine and still on D:\Hyperspin\[everything] on new).

When I open hyperspin and try and enter a emulator (mame, pc games, super ninetendo, any of them), it kicks me straight out to the main menu. In the log (which is super helpful and full of debugging information....) all it says is

Ive reset directory/file permissions to "everyone" to make sure thats not the issue. all the roms are all still there from the old machine.

everyone was working perfect on the old machine, but new one, nah.

I tried downloading a fresh copy and just extracted that to a new directory (this without anything configured) launched hyperspin and i get the exact same result on a clean install with nothing configured. Pushing "enter"/"start" on any emulator jsut stays in the main menu.

I'm sure its something obvious and a silly setting, but the lack of debugging info in the log is preventing me from finding out what the issue is.

anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

lol, that is so crazy. i would never of guessed that one

I took the machine out the cabinet to work on it, and I originally had usb speakers plugged into them, but my son wanted them for his computer. never would of crossed my mind that one.

really needs be better debugging info somewhere.
