AetherSX2 Multiplayer (2 Controllers) Question

I’ve been testing AetherSX2 emulator on my setup and had a quick question about multiplayer.

Is it possible to run 2 players using two wireless (Bluetooth) controllers, or is it better to use one wired + one wireless?

Also, if using a wired controller, does it have to be an actual PS2 controller with an adapter, or will any standard USB controller work fine?

From what I understand, local multiplayer should work as long as the game supports it and controllers are mapped correctly, but I wanted to confirm what setups people are actually using.
