ParadoxSeven
So, was finally getting around to setting up controls for emulators and before I go through that i was wondering the need of xpadder. What benefit is there to using it verse just setting up controls in emulators directly? Do you think xpadder is required now a days or is it not even possible to get by without it at this point. Also, is there any input lag by using xpadder verse using direct emulator setup?
ghutch92
Xpadder is not required. However something to translate joystick input to keyboard input is required for HyperSpin. There is no noticeable input lag. There is some but it's just a few thousandths of a second. Xpadder is great for joysticks and gamepads. It lets you play things that were not meant to be used with a gamepad such as an internet browser or games like minecraft. The benefit in using it in a hyperspin or hyperlaunch setup with multiple emulators is that it provides a layer of abstraction that allows you to play your games with multiple types of inputs such as a mouse and keyboard, tv remote, and different types of gamepads. If you are only ever gonna have one type of input, it is best to map directly to the emulator.
