simmer1234 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Hey Everyone, Here's my situation I have the Howler control board, and I am using single (non RGB) LED Buttons. I also have LED Blinky and i want to only have the buttons that are required for the game to light up. How do I do this? Here's what I've done so far: Used howler config to assign button 1 to "keyboard "A" " Told Hyperspin HQ to enable LED Blinky and specified LED Blinky path Mapped my button using LED Blinky input map set front end in LED Blinky config to Hyperspin Told LED BLinky the path to MAME Config forlder Here's where I'm lost, when I load hyperspin, cycle through systems, select mame and cycle through games, the LED stays lit the entire time. I even tried setting the button to "fire" for asteroids for example, and then when i hit pause during the game, the voice says "fire" but the button doesnt blink. Finally, I used to get an error saying "Missing value in settings.ini but now im not getting that error. I know this is a tough question and I'm very new at this so i dont know much but I would really appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks very much Kevin
boohiss Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 It's been a while since I had LED buttons on my MAME cabinet, but I do remember needing a master XML file for MAME. It should be a setting in LEDblinky for a MAME XML file. To create one, you open a command prompt and enter this command after changing directories to your MAME directory (where the mame.exe is): mame.exe -listxml >mame.xml This will create the correct XML file LEDblinky needs. If you point it to the XML file database that HyperSpin uses things will be broken and you will have many games not light up correctly. Also I would double check all settings inside of LEDblinky itself to make sure you didn't miss anything. Hope that helps.
arzoo Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Try using the LEDBlinky Troubleshooter app and see if it can help resolve any problems. If not, email me the debug.ZIP file (generated by the troubleshooting app) and I'll take a look.
