The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

guys,

First time poster and I apologize if my questions are basic. I would love to get to know my system better.

1. My hyperspin 1.0.0 menu is working and it launches games . However, the button that I press to start the game does nothing but reload the rom. My "coin in" buttons work but I cannot start the game. If it helps if I press the button in notepad in windows it doesnt display any character. Like I say after the game loads but the button reboots the rom instead of starting the game . This button starts the rom so I know the button is working for some functions

2. I have a trackpad. Inside of windows it will move the mouse. however none of my game roms work with the trackball. As a side question I am wondering if the ball is supposed to light up. Does anyone know how that would work ? I bought the unit off craigslist and it didnt work when I bought it

What are the buttons connected to on your machine running HyperSpin? I suspect one is pressing a key that MAME has assigned to reset the game (F3 is a default key to soft reset a game). I would launch MAME, hit tab, and go assign something by pressing the button in question to find out what it is first. Then either change MAME's settings for reset etc., or reprogram your buttons if possible (IPAC has software to do this, not sure what you have).

What did you buy off of craigslist, the entire arcade machine or just the trackpad or trackball? Just trying to figure out what exactly is going on. Some trackballs light up and some do not, it depends if it is able to and if so, if it is connected properly.

I uploaded a video I hope that answers some of the questions.

I bought the arcade as a full working system. Why this issue just suddenly started I am not sure.

Stepowell, if you load the game, and put the coin in, and then put a real keyboard in the arcade, and hit the enter, what is happening then?

I would connect a keyboard, load up a MAME game such as Street Fighter II as you did in the video, and hit the tab key. Go to Input (General), User Interface by selecting it and hitting enter. Go to "Reset Game" and "Soft Reset" and press the delete key, which should change those two functions to none. In the User Interface section, I always change most things to "none" with the delete key. However keep "config menu" set to tab or key of your choice, and also keep UI up, down, left, right, UI select, and UI Clear all set to a key instead of "none".

You could also reprogram your buttons with WinIPAC software that you have installed, but then you will need to reprogram all emulators you have installed along with all frontends, etc.

ok, I am not sure how I did it but the fire button now doesnt reset the rom. Its back working again. However, at the same time as firing its also trying to control the volume.

I am soooo close. Any ideas guys ? Here is the video :)
