What does "executable" mean in hyper spin?

hello i just want to know what executable means in hyper spin? im in HyperHQ right now and theres 2 blanks that i need to fill in. one is "rom path" and the other is "executable" i know wat the rom path is, but what is executable? is that the emulator itself?

The executable is the emulator you are using to load your rom. i.e. snes9x.exe. You only need it if you are not using hyperlaunch.
