Tookie 1 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Hello all, I am a noob to hyperspin and was wondering if I could use bsnes with this computer http://www.bestbuy.com/site/toshiba-satellite-15-6-laptop-amd-a8-series-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-jet-black/8790174.p?id=1219370472837&skuId=8790174&pid=1219370472837&pcatId=abcat0502000 Please, if someone could answer that it would make my Christmas day. Thanks for looking at my noob Christmas wish!

Tookie 1 Posted December 25, 2014 Author Posted December 25, 2014 So it should not result in any fps issues since it's not a 3 gHz machine! I got worried after reading contradicting information thank you so much!
Tookie 1 Posted December 25, 2014 Author Posted December 25, 2014 I read an article that I believe came from the creator of bsnes saying 3 gHz this why I was confused
Fromlostdays Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I wonder if the many BSNES cores for Retroarch have less of a comp requirement. Incidentally BSNES has accuracy and performance builds. Walter:beerglass:
Tookie 1 Posted December 25, 2014 Author Posted December 25, 2014 I understand the need for accuracy and such however, since I'm new to this I just want to create something amazing that I could one day refine (with better technology) and create my own cab. I'm thinking of this as something like a rough draft for a product that could be a year or two down the line you know like a "Hello World" program lol.
Fromlostdays Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 BSNES is all about accuracy, but many other emulators run perfectly fine with less requirements. May I recommend SNES9x and Mednafen (and retroarch has cores for all of the above). Mednafen saves aren't really portable, I don't think. But the others are. I keep a copy of BSNES/Highan accuracy in case I run into a game where accuracy will be benefit, but other than that, I don't use it. Walter:beerglass:
Tookie 1 Posted December 25, 2014 Author Posted December 25, 2014 Walter thank you so much for all the help, I'm sure these questions get asked frequently. I'm glad you took the time out to respond to my queries.
