barrica
Hello All, This is my first post to the forums, so not sure this is in the right place (apologies). Let me start by thanking you all for the invaluable source of info during the build of my first cabinet, many thanks! I thought I'd post a few pics of the cab, very much in its raw state, but its been fun documenting the process, so why not share... Im getting to the point of adding sticks and buttons now, and have a specific question regarding button mapping that I cant seem to find an answer too. Basically, I want to have a save and load state button as part of some admin buttons on the cab, but am struggling to assign a button command to a single keystroke from all the different emulators. Its OK for MAME and 7SNES, as you can manually assign the buttons, but for emulators where the hotkeys are preassigned, I need to be able to map lots of different keys to the same key, if that makes sense?? I.E, Fusion uses F7 to save and PCSX uses F1. I need to be able to map both of those keystrokes to a single key (i.e "S"), so I can wire the save button and have it work on all emulators. I have tried a couple of pieces of key mapping software and they only seem to let me map one key to another, not multiples?? It must be possible, and any feedback on the cab is more than welcome! iNTiGOD
Cabinet looks great!! Have you looked at xpadder? With this program you have the ability to map different keys to your control panel for different systems, different emulators and even different games. I'm assuming you're using RocketLauncher also? barrica
Hi intigod, thanks for the prompt repsonse. I'll give xpadder a go tonight, I hadn't heard of it so cheers for the heads up. I've taken the latest version of hyperspin from the downloads section here - Version 1.
iNTiGOD
Is this your first time using hyperspin? Just so there isn't any confusion hyperspin handles all the frontends media, game lists etc but hyperlaunch handles launching of emulators, launching of emulators, extraction of roms, using keymappers e.g. xpadder. Here you will find RocketLauncher downloads http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=119 Below is a good hyperlaunch help site https://sites.google.com/site/hyperlaunch2/home/downloads Below is specific information from the help site regarding running a keymapper as per your first post https://sites.google.com/site/hyperlaunch2/home/features/keymapper And lastly an excellent hyperspin/hyperlaunch install guide be gutch http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?29481-How-to-install-HyperSpin
barrica
Yes, this is my first time using hyperspin, but I have everything setup on a separate computer ready to install into the cab when its finished. Thanks for your comprehensive list of guides, it really is much appreciated. I have around 6 emualtors and plenty of roms working through hyperspin. I used hyperlaunch HQ to set these up, following some guides and videos from these forums. Im sure Hyperlaunch HQ was included in the hyperspin download? is this the way to go? iNTiGOD
I think you're good to go. Yes hyperlaunch HQ is whats needed to launch all your emulators. I would also use it to setup all your xpadder profiles for your different systems and emulators. Not sure if HLHQ is included with hyperspin as default (don't believe so), but if you have been following some of the guides i'm sure the setup of HL is discussed (e.g. gigapigs great youtube vids, take a look at his mame one).
