whirlybird7 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I'm new and I'm probably way in over my head trying to build a cabinet but that's not going to stop me. (it never has before) I do have a question about this I-PAC board. I've noticed there's a 1A and 1B slot but have no clue what that is for? Is it a enter/back button? Can someone please explain this to me?
HazzardActual Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 its just an extra button to program to what ever function you want. Escape, pause, etc

whirlybird7 Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 And you also do not even have to follow what they are labeled for, those are just for default mame config. You can use the winipac program to reconfigure the buttons to be whatever keys you want. So it's possible to use 1 joystick with 8 buttons for each player (2 Player cab) with a back, pause and power button? (power button wired to the motherboard, not the I-PAC) Are there more useful ways to map the buttons that I'm missing?
HazzardActual Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 cool thing about the ipac is you can have shifted(multifunction) keys. I have 1 joy with 8 buttons and a coin, start, and exit key. I dont use hyperpause, but if i wanted to add it in, All i would have to do i set up a shift key( IE hold p1 s1 for shift) and set a shifted function for another key. Ive seen cabs that have shifted functions for volume control, alt-tab, alt enter, etc etc.
